The Himalayan Disaster Relief Volunteer Group is an independent community volunteer group providing relief “armed with little more than Facebook, open source mapping technology, local knowledge, and some antiestablishment verve” (Wired, May 2015).
Operating out of the Yellow House B&B and supported by registered NGO Photo Circle, the group delivers provisions to the most remote and hardest-hit regions, in addition to working in conjunction with Kathmandu Living Labs to provide open source mapping of the region (http://quakemap.org/) to identify areas in need of aid.
