Tickets for the first Nicer Tuesdays of 2020 are now available!
This may seem a little ahead of ourselves, but tickets for January’s Nicer Tuesdays are now available! Yes, you’re correct, December’s Nicer Tuesdays hasn’t even happened yet. But what with Christmas on its way, and the fact that January’s event will be taking place earlier than normal on the 21st of the month, we wanted to make sure you had enough time to grab your tickets.
It’s the perfect opportunity to start your year in the right way with some creative inspiration as we’ll be hearing from Wang & Söderström, Adama Jalloh, Ricardo Bessa and Patrick Saville. So grab yourself, your mum or your secret Santa a ticket using the link below, then pop back to find out more about the speakers who will be kicking off Nicer Tuesdays 2020.
Wang & Söderström
We’ve long been fans of Wang & Söderström here at It’s Nice That, so are thrilled to be welcoming them to the Nicer Tuesdays stage in the new year. Based in Copenhagen, the duo comprising Anna Wang and Tim Söderström run an art and design practice with a focus on digital and physical exploration and fabrication. This often results in mind-boggling 3D renders but also sees them creating physical objects.
Adama Jalloh
Adama Jalloh is a photographer based in London whose black and white street photographs are revered for their nuanced and honest depiction of black British identity. An award-winning photographer, she’s exhibited in Tate Modern, Aperture and The Photographer’s Gallery (to name a few), as well as shooting commercially for Nike, Alexander McQueen and Patta. Recently, this saw her shooting Top Boy’s Michael Ward for Wave magazine.
Ricardo Bessa
Also based in London, but born in Portugal is Ricardo Bessa, an illustrator and storyboard artist who draws inspiration from nature, comics and mythology, as well his upbringing in sunny Portugal and a variety of queer art. His Nicer Tuesdays talk, however, will focus on his recent work on 4Creative’s campaign for series two of The End of the F***ing World. Ricardo worked with Picnic Studios and 4Creative to bring to life fan theories about the first series’ ending and predictions for how it might unfold in series two, all in the style of a comic book in homage to original work.
Patrick Savile
Patrick Savile is a graphic designer whose work, music fans are sure to be familiar with. His illustrative designs have been featured on album artworks, printed matter and T-shirts for Universal Music, Warp Records, Sony, Red Bull and NTS. At Nicer Tuesdays, he’ll be telling us about his practice which sees him building entire worlds for the likes of Tame Impala or Clams Casino, producing visuals out of, and for, these worlds.
