Description

Tickets now available for Nicer Tuesdays December!

Somehow, it’s December?! And what a year of Nicer Tuesdays it’s been so far. But before we start reflecting on what has happened over the previous 11 events, we’ve got one more, very very exciting Nicer Tuesdays for you which is sure to end your creative year on a high. Taking to the stage to round off 2019 will be Mona Chalabi, Mother’s Hermeti Balarin, Anna Ridler and Martin Parr. Trust us, you don’t want to miss this one.

Check out some more information on December’s speakers below after you’ve grabbed your ticket and make sure you make a note: December’s event will be happening during the third week of the month on 17 December, instead of the usual last Tuesday. Doors open at 6:30 PM as always, and the evening kicks off at 7:15 PM.

Mona Chalabi

Mona Chalabi is a British data journalist, currently working as The Guardian US’ data editor. Mona’s work sees her turning complex data and statistics into readable illustrations, often communicating issues related to inequality, mental health, politics and society. At Nicer Tuesdays, she will be giving us a brief run-through of how she found herself in this unique career; how she turns a fact or a question into an illustration; as well as opening up about difficult situations she’s found herself in with clients, and how you can avoid the same thing happening.

Hermeti Balarin

Originally from Brazil, Hermeti Balarin is the executive creative director at Mother London, the juggernaut independent creative agency with offices across the globe. Last month, the agency released its work with Ikea, a Christmas ad “for the realists” which sees ornaments taunting their owners about their falling-apart furniture and messy ways – all in the form of a rap diss voiced by grime MC D Double E. At Nicer Tuesdays, Hermeti will be taking us behind the scenes of the making of this ad, giving insight into how he and his team created something different for the festive season which “cut[s] through all sentimental, heart-warming Christmas noise.”

Anna Ridler

Many will recognise the name Ustwo as the studio which creates digital products, services and immersive experiences, and Ustwo Games is just one arm of this London-based digital powerhouse. Functioning as an independent games studio, its work aims to challenge the medium as seen in hit releases including Monument Valley and Land’s End. At Nicer Tuesdays, the studio’s producer Adrienne Law will take to the stage to tell us about its newest release Assemble with Care, a story of taking things apart and putting ourselves back together as seen through the eyes of Maria, a globe-trotting antique restorer.

Timings for the evening: doors open at 6.30pm and the talks will begin at 7.15pm. Oval Space will be serving delicious food throughout the evening with the venue open until 10pm and we'll have drinks kindly provided by Camden Town Brewery.

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.
