Nell's Cafe and Ingress Abbey Ride
For those who don't live there cycling in SE London is truly an Alice in Wonderland experience!
This ride is is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides organised by the East End Cycling Club.
The 39 mile route for the ride can be downloaded from here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37402974
If you cycle to Gravesend you have to travel for miles miles through London's industrial heartlands to get there. But you may come across a complete surprise. It is a Gothic mansion called Ingress Abbey, which turns out to be an official honorary consulate of the Republic of Lithuania.
We will meet at the Southwark Needle at 9.30am for this ride or you can join it at 10.10am at the roundabout at the top of The Avenue in Greenwich Park ( https://what3words.com/rugs.flying.they).
We start by cycling out to Nell's Cafe for cherry pie. On the way back we will visit the amazing grounds of Ingress Abbey which can best be described as Capability Brown meets Bluewater.
The ride will finish at Crayford Station (Zone 6) where there is a regular train service back to central London.
