Natural Dye Workshop: Using Waste to Dye

Sep 08 2018 14:00 - 17:00

Cordwainers Garden, UAL 182 Mare St, E8 3RE London

The fourth in our series of eight natural dye workshops. In this one we'll be dyeing with waste products such as onion and avocado skins to make a range of colours which will become part of our Hackney Colour Wheel, a project to make a spectrum of colours from plants in our garden. We'll be joined by a chemist from the Royal Society of Chemistry who will explain the chemical processes going on and help us become more methodical in our dye processing. You'll dye your own piece of silk to make a scarf.
