Natural Dye Workshop: Hollyhocks

Nov 03 2018 14:00 - 17:00

Cordwainers Grow, Unit 16, Celia Feinnes House, 8-20 Well St , E9 7PX London

In this workshop, part of a series of eight, we focus on one plant that we specialise in at the garden: The black hollyhock (Alcea Nigra). We will aim to get a range of colours from petals we have collected and dried - blues, greens and greys. You will be able to dye your own piece of silk for a scarf and we hope to  be helped by a chemist from the Royal Society of Chemistry who will explain what's really going on - that it's not just magic!
