Description
Please join us at this concert dedicated to the memory of Nikki Braterman of Preston Park, Brighton, who died in March 2015 after a year long battle with leukaemia. Nikki loved many kinds of music and, amongst her talents, was an active singer herself. She sang with the Philharmonia Chorus from 1993 - 2005 as a soprano under the direction of chorus master Robert Dean and in 2003 co-founded a small chamber choir called Vox Angeli. This choir drew on voices from the Philharmonia under the musical direction of Elinor Corp.
Original members from the Philharmonia Chorus and Vox Angeli ( who are now scattered over the UK and the globe!) will come together in Brighton on 6th of February 2016 to perform a selection of Nikki's favourite pieces from her singing career. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the charity Delete Blood Cancer which supported Nikki throughout her campaign to find a bone marrow donor.
In consultation with her husband Geoff we will be performing pieces by Finzi, Monteverdi, Parry, Mendelssohn and Elgar along with some lighter pieces reflecting Nikki's wide variety of musical tastes.
Doors will open at 6.40pm and the concert starts at 7pm. Seating will be unreserved. There is no need to print tickets. All ticket holder details will be on the door.
