Description

A Merry Clashmas party in memory of Joe Strummer on the 16th anniversary of his death and in support of the Joe Strummer Foundation with THE TRASH, the only Clash tribute band that matters plus the REAL McKOYS turning crappy power ballads into punk classics and 77 – '85 punk and new wave covers from THE SMASH. Plus DJ Kev Saunders playing all sorts of stuff that Uncle Joe would have approved of.

THE TRASH are the only Clash tribute band that matters. First formed back in 2000 fora one-off charity show, they’ve been banging out the Clash classic on and off for 18 years now! Led by Kev Saunders (also of Los Ladrones Del Amor/Marden Hill/The Dissent) and Chairman of Hertford Music Festival), the band all have previous bands such as anarcho-punks The Blissetts, The Astronauts, Exaggerators, Trojan Horses, Necro and Garden Room among many others.
Half-arsed work in progress on a new website here:

The SMASH! was formed by three 40 something punk rockers who were bored of playing the wrong music with the wrong people for the wrong reasons. Playing standard rock covers at weddings and birthdays,- you know the sort of thing: Johnny B Good, Sweet Home Alabama.... ZZZzzz . It may pay a bit of dough but don't make yer feel it.
So they’re now playing the stuff that made them fall in love with music the first time round: Punk and New Wave and some pub rock from the early days, playing with the punk attitude they had back in the day.

THE REAL McKOYS
are swingers… of music! Playing from the 50’s pop ballads to the 00’s, but turning them into Punk Rock anthems! The McKoys is a show not a gig, the dressing up gimmick loving maniacs are a night in for nostalgia and a night out for partying! In short, they turn crappy power ballads into punk anthems!

DJ Kev Saunders – playing the kinda stuff Joe loved – from punk and indie to funk, ska, reggae, rockabilly and a splash of cumbia!
