Description

"Meg and Jacob met at Margate’s song salon and didn’t talk to each other for a year. But after hearing each other’s songs, and bumping into each other at the shops, they began to write together and thought they could showcase their songs at the Tom Thumb Theatre.

Jacob M Berry is an experienced musician who is now working on his solo material for the first time in years. Having spent the past few years playing other musicians’ music, this gig will be the first outing for some of Jacob’s own, brand new material. Described as having written “sad songs for happy people”, you can expect music that will pull the heartstrings.

Meg was born listening to Ella Fitzgerald and jazz has been in her life ever since. But as she has grown, she has been influenced by all kinds of music and, hopefully, you can hear those diverse sounds in her songs.

At the start of 2023 she moved from London to Margate, and, in the slower pace of life, and tight knit community, she has found a style and sound that is uniquely hers. In that time she has written and recorded an EP which is due for release over the summer. This gig will be an opportunity to get to know those songs a little better.

The most exciting thing of all, is that it is Meg’s Birthday. As she is such an amazing musician and turning the big 2-7, make sure to catch her whilst you can in case she joins legends such as Jeff Buckley and Amy Winehouse in the 27 club.
Cake will be expected (but not required).”
