MDRN and Adam Kelly present Freshers 2021 live from The legendary Amersham Arms in New Cross. 

It’s time to start the university year with a bang after a year of uncertainty, lockdowns and venue closures. MDRN have been hosting events for BIMM students over 3 years; setting the stage for some of the most exciting upcoming acts and DJs around London. This September we return with a line up and freshers party you DO NOT want to miss!

Adam Kelly- 

Adam Kelly is one of the most exciting new artists coming from South East London, with a collection of music inspired by songs from the 70’s and 80’s in particular. Kelly combines old sounds with catchy, modern hooks to bring something new, yet nostalgic to today’s UK music scene.

4 The Brotherhood- 

4 The Brotherhood is a breath of fresh air in the modern pop scene. This talented young prospect is set to take over with his compelling vocal style, infectious guitar licks and irresistibly danceable drum beats. Uniquely, he is a multi-instrumentalist and takes pride in his ability to self-produce his music. Developing his own unique style, his sound draws influence from disco, indie and UK reggae, such as infamous lovers rock band ‘The investigators’, which his father was part of. Growing up in rural south London, playing instruments and making music was how 4 The brotherhood occupied his free time. In his early days, he shied away from the limelight but ever since he played his first high school battle of the bands, he has been chasing any opportunity to perform ever since. His artist name aims to embrace his Half-Jamaican Half-Filipino roots and celebrate diversity in being a B.A.M.E independent artist. His debut single ‘Green Light’ is the perfect introduction into the captivating style of ‘4 The Brotherhood’, ebullient and full of character. ‘Green Light’ is a playfully imaginative, feel-good banger with an undoubtedly West Coast influenced sound. The Hooky instrumental riffs and thumping drums are complimented by an undeniably charismatic lead vocal which leaves the listener wanting more. This is only the beginning of his professional music career but the future looks very promising, 4 The Brotherhood is set to leave a lasting impression and is definitely one to watch.

Jessica- 

Jessica Beschizza is a 20 year old singer from London. She has been singing from a young age performing in productions and gigs. Her main styles of music are R&b and soul. Jessica has grown up listening to artists such as Amy Winehouse and Aretha Franklin which have influenced her sound being very soulful. Her performances are always filled with emotion, meaning and always create a good atmosphere in the room.

Jessica grew up learning skills such as singing, dancing and acting and performing in many productions. She learned many skills that she now incorporates into her performances. She then went on to furthering her skills at a creative arts college where she learnt more skills and gained experience from gigs, she also grew more as an artist when she started at BIMM. She is currently working on her own original music which she plans to release next year.

Daria Daniels- 

Daria is a Russian singer and songwriter. 

The girl who gave up Vogue and GQ for sound checks and fashion week for this stage. 

Her  inspiration comes  from 80’s rock and Hitchcock movies. Rethinking the image of femme fatale in the world of social media. 

Daria is from Saint Petersburg aka the city of white nights , drawbridges , theaters, Dostoevsky , Brodsky and illegal rooftops tours. 

Daria is currently working on her first album which will be ready by the end of the year. Her songs are about empowerment.  About getting  over the past, getting over your traumas, and living through toxic relationships. 

Tonight she is singing to the backing tracks, hoping that the situation with borders during the pandemic will be better soon and the next time she will be able to perform with her band who could not come to London during these unprecedented times.
