Description

Join us for what promises to be another sell-out extravaganza: The Worshipful The Mayor of Wandsworth Charity Spring Ball 2017 on Thurdsay 6 April 2017, 6.30pm at the Wandsworth Civic Suite.

Guests will enjoy a drinks reception followed by a sumptuous three-course dinner, quality live entertainment, a high value auction and a DJ to get us all in a dancing mood.

The event raises money for The Mayor's two chosen charities:

From babies to young people up to the age of 21, we support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

Receiving hospice care does not mean that a child’s death is imminent – in fact many who visit are living active lives but wish to have some time in a supportive, caring environment including; Hospice at Home, day care, symptom management, end-of-life care, bereavement care and a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family. 41 Families who live in Wandsworth are supported by this wonderful charity.

Our support is free of charge to families and available 365 days a year.

We provide a range of residential activity and respite breaks that allows children aged 7-11 to escape the traumas of their everyday life and simply become children again.

The children we help often experience:
Domestic violence - The effects of alcohol and drug abuse
Bullying - Physical, emotional - neglect and sexual abuse - Social isolation
Dangerous environments and neighbourhood - Low self-esteem
Caring responsibilities - (Severe poverty)

Benefits of residential activities or respite breaks:
Swimming and beach visits, for many this is the first time they have been to the beach.
They become more positive about their own capabilities and their future.
Children learn about the benefits of a healthy diet, exercise and table manners.
People can develop new social skills by interacting with others.
They play, learn and are cared for in safe and encouraging environments.
Spending quality time with adults who provide positive role models.
They grow in confidence by challenging themselves and trying new activities.
Children learn to be more independent and self-sufficient, meet and make new friends and just having fun being children. This is something that has been lacking in their lives

The Mayor's Charity Spring Ball offers the borough's leaders, movers and shakers, a chance to host clients, network and do business.

However, most importantly, the evening will be hugely enjoyable, with the added benefit of knowing that you are making a difference to someone’s life in our Borough.

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.
