Oyster Music presents Matt Boroff & The Mirrors + Lara Smiles + Mono Club

***Matt Boroff & The Mirrors***

Matt Boroff is an American born, Austria-based musician, singer, and songwriter whose passionate brand of music has excelled at luring audiences into new and exciting terrain. From experimental noise-rock to standard alternative-rock, Boroff, a talented multi-instrumentalist, creates an immersive work that feels cinematic in scope while conjuring images of Spaghetti Westerns and sweeping desert landscapes.

His musical career began in the Nineties, performing his own brand of experimental noise-rock across the northeast and playing solo gigs in New York City. In 2000, he relocated to Austria.

His second full-length solo album, Sweet Hand of Fate, was released on January 14, 2014 and features a guest appearance by alt-rock legend and former Screaming Trees front man, Mark Lanegan, who displays his harrowing vocals on the track, Garbage Man.

Now, Matt Boroff has broken new ground at 11AD Studio in Los Angeles, CA to collaborate with some of rock’s legendary contributors, the amazingly talented Alain Johannes (QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures) and drummer Jack Irons (Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chilli Peppers). The result is an organic, multi-dimensional follow up to Sweet Hand of Fate.

Mark Lanegan has also returned to lend his distinctive baritone voice to a track on Boroff’s new album "Grand Delusion"

***Lara Smiles***

'With hints of electro and industrial, but it doesn’t forget to pack a punchy chorus, with a guitar line that recalls Altered Images and an infectious insistence.'
Paul Lester - THE GUARDIAN

'Lara Smiles shows massive promise' - Q RADIO

‘Pretty spot on if you ask me’ – BBC INTRODUCING

'Before Martin Hannett gets ambushed by Phil Spector...perfectly formed and infectious' AMAZING RADIO

Fusing an avant-garde mix of indie and electro, Lara’s music is guitar-driven, synth-inspired and brimming with colourful layers of alt-pop.
Influenced by many genres of music, Lara started out writing punk and soul tunes on her guitar – but all-night raves in her teens led to a love of dance music and experimenting with samples.

In recent years, having caught the eye of BBC and international DJs, Lara’s music has so far received extensive airplay on radio stations in the UK and across the world.

She’s performed at some of Europe and America’s largest live venues and music festivals - and with three Glastonbury performances already under her belt, she’s getting excited to play Glasto 2016.

Lara can reveal that she’s currently working with Tom Findlay of Groove Armada – it's a dark techno track that she wrote in her tour bus bunk - they loved the tune and a collaboration was born.

Her latest single, CHANGE THE WORLD, is available to buy on itunes and Amazon. CHANGE THE WORLD is co-produced by Lara and legendary producer Youth (Primal Scream, The Verve, The Orb).

***MONO CLUB***

Mono Club's debut single, Sky High and Submarine, went straight onto the 6Music playlist, where it stayed for over a month. Steve Lamacq has described them as one of his favourite new bands and they have received widespread support across 6Music and Radio X. To promote the single they recently performed for Sadiq Khan in Trafalgar Square as part of#LondonIsOpen campaign and they also played live on Buzzfeed's Facebook page going out to over 1 million followers. Their debut album of the same title will be release in early 2017 on LGM Records.
