"I'll show you the techniques to make hand-made pasta using plant-based ingredients, how to make plant based bechamel and ragu sauces complimentary flavours to bring the pasta to life as a delicious lasagne, create a seasonal antipasto and make an Italian sweet".

This masterclass will include:
- How to make delicious Italian dishes using traditional skills and seasonal ingredients
- How to make and hand-roll a plant-based pasta dough
- Create a delicious plant based bechemal sauce, before combining with the pasta and roast vegetable ragu to make a vegetable lasagne using only natural ingredients that will leave you asking for “ancora un po’, per favore” (a bit more, please)
- Make a fresh and vibrant Italian antipasto of Sicilian caponata using delicious ingredients (plus a secret ingredient to add real richness)
- Create the classic Italian dessert panna cotta, using plant-based ingredients for a light and creamy taste, to complete the perfect meal
- Make and bake sensational lemon and rosemary biscotti
- Enjoy your dishes as an organic plant based dinner with a glass of wine (or kombucha if you prefer)

About the chef
Mark Breen is a classically trained chef. Mark loves showing people how to cook what is seasonal, and at its best, at any given time. His passion is teaching people how to cook with skill and enjoyment to create beautiful and tasty dishes that are good for your taste-buds, bodies and soul. When Mark isn’t working with Made In Hackney or as a private chef, he’s usually in the kitchen at home perfecting flavour blends or creating ferments and pickles.

All proceeds from our masterclasses help fund our community meal service which has become a critical food support service delivering 70,000 free nutritious, tasty meals per year to households struggling to access food, and is needed now more than ever by our community.

Note On Ticket Price Change
Apologies we have had to pause offering a concession rate for our paying in-person cookery classes. Due to the pandemic we cannot fit as many people in the kitchen which means classes generate less vital revenue needed to keep the charity going.
Refunds/transfers: we require a minimum of 7 days' notice for any cancellations or transfers once you have booked onto a class to enable us to try to resell your ticket.
Please understand our charity needs time to enable us to try to resell your tickets as we rely heavily on the income generated. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend or family member in case of last minute illness (just email classes@madeinhackney.org to let us know). If the workstation you require (single or double) is not available, please let us know as we may be able to accommodate.
Vouchers: To redeem a voucher purchased on our site, please contact us to book a place. If contacting us by email please attach your voucher. If telephoning, have your voucher to hand so you can quote the voucher number.

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your Masterclass: Vegan Italian tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you.
