The UK’s leading low carbon innovation centre – the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation – partners with Edinburgh International Fashion Festival to host a discussion with sustainable fashion business leader Claire Bergkamp.
Currently Stella McCartney’s head of sustainability and ethical trade, Claire oversees the brand’s ethical trade and community outreach programs.
Coming from a diverse background in sustainability journalism, corporate sustainability, fashion and costume design for film, Claire combines a depth of experience in environmental issues, manufacturing processes, and supply chain analysis with her passion for ethical fashion and business.
Since joining Stella McCartney in 2012, Claire has worked internationally across the brand to shape a strong environmental improvement strategy. At the heart of this strategy is her work on sustainable raw material development and procurement. Her work also includes supplier engagement and improvement, which recently has been focused on improving energy and water efficiency of dye mills in Italy.
