    Description

Beatrice Behlen, Senior Curator at London Museum, will talk about the make-up and skincare products Mary Quant developed with Gala Cosmetics, a company based in Kingston. Believing that make-up had not kept up with the fashion revolution, Quant introduced new types of products, colours and packaging, all promoted with bold and eye-catching advertisements. After the launch of the first products in 1966, with their often tongue-in-cheek names, reps and young sales women, all dressed in Mary Quant, were sent on promotional tours, first around the UK, then on the Mary Quant beauty bus which toured Europe, Canada, America and Venezuela. Come along for the ride!

Mary Quant: Painting Faces will begin at Kingston Museum at 18:00 and will be followed by a short Q&A session. Tickets are free, but booking is required.
