Martin is one of the country's most versatile and in-demand jazz soloists on any instrument. He has rHe studied Jazz and Classical Trumpet at The Royal Academy of music, before being invited to study at Berklee, Boston, and finally at The Guildhall back in London. The University of Central England in Martin's Native Birmingham made him Professor of Jazz Tumpet in 2001.

He has played with everyone, including Cleo Laine, John Dankworth, Pete King, Natalie Cole and The BBC Big Band, and with Pop acts such as Jamiroquai, The Brand New Heavies and Jools Holland.

It is a rare treat to hear Martin lead his own standards quartet.
