Description
You'll see some of the best cliff views in Cornwall and come to understand how this beautiful but dangerous section of coast took so many lives over the years.
30th May 1995 the Maria Asumpta was wrecked off The Rumps with the loss of lives. The walk takes in the site of the wreck and also ends at the memorial at St Enodoc Churchyard.
That's a reasonable walk so a shorter version is included for those who just want to visit the wreck site.
Join the walk at the point that is convenient for you.
9 am start walk from The Tubestation, Polzeath Beach, to Pentireglaze, via Pentire Farm (10 am) to the Rumps, Pentire Point, Polzeath Beach and then around to St Enodoc Church to see the memorial there and loop back inland via The Point to Polzeath (4 hours).
Or 10 am start at Pentire Farmhouse (parking available) and perhaps enjoy a shorter looped walk back to your car via Stinky Bay (2 hours).
A free walking and talking tour (donations kindly accepted)
