Description

Prime that tail-feather for shaking as we bring you the blazing street beats and fire and funk of New Orleans to Hackney Wick.

DJ Lil’ Koko, London’s only specialist vinyl New Orleans DJ, hosts a night of 50’s RnB, low-down funk and brass with a few detours into the sweaty bayous of Louisiana. Come hungry, leave soulful! This is the perfect pairing with New Orleans Street food aficionados Slow Fire London serving up pulled pork and other flavoursome dishes all night.

One time resident of New Orleans, Lil’ Koko cut her teeth with a residency at Ronnie Scott’s and brings the party to monthly slots at The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch and Nightjar, Old Street. Half of the Mardi Gras Mambo crew, running hot New Orleans parties all over London, she tours the world bringing a unique mix of rare funk, swing and filthy beats evoking the spirit of a street parade.

Listen to her rocking the Treme Ball in Lille earlier this year: https://www.mixcloud.com/kate-pieroudis/treme-ball-lille-feb-16/

Special guest DJ Clifford Strutter brings his box of 45’s s stuffed full of rare jump-jive and funk.

Dress masquerade themed and be prepared to groove and shake that thing!
