    Description

Quite a large portion of the conversation on smart homes is about the advancements of IoT. Cool devices that will alert your grocery store when you are out of food, so it's ordered to your home, or light that changes according to a detected emotion, or an entry system that knows who you are and lets you in without keys.

However, what about a home that is conscious? If a home became aware of your needs and of what's going on inside of itself, what would that mean?

Could you have a home that adds a better quality of life to a person who is blind or diabetic? Could you have homes that take care of an ageing person to give them independence? Or what about a home that calms the anxiety symptoms of autistic child to make their childhood more seamless and less confusing?

We also need to think about how the data generated from smart homes will be managed, how the homes themselves will be installed and sustained, and how we will feel about the security elements behind a smart home.

Join us to discuss the wider scope of transitioning from smart homes to conscious environments.
