Feb 09 2019 14:30 - 17:00

Store Store, 118 Lower Stable Street, N1C 4DR London

Enter Materiom’s material kitchen: Join Zoë Powell at the Store Store to make a bioplastic recipe! You will have the opportunity to look through samples created with the recipes from the online open source library and then measure, mix and mould your own biomaterial tests. The bioplastic recipes are all natural, vegan, not harmful to the environment using abundant local ingredients such as beetroot, sage, turmeric, agar agar and even waste like used coffee grounds.

Zoē Powell is a multi-disciplinary Designer-Maker and Textile Design graduate from Central Saint Martins. She has worked on commissions and projects internationally for a variety of industries including art, fashion and interiors. Zoē is now a Researcher and Workshop Facilitator of Biomaterials for open source platform Materiom.

Materiom is a research platform dedicated to the experimentation and development of open source biomaterial recipes made using locally abundant ingredients and life-friendly chemistry.
