Join us to launch the Caper Press's latest caper, the fabulous Looking for Erik by multitalented author, lecturer and social entrepreneur, Alexandra Fitzsimmons.
Looking for Erik chronicles Alexandra’s bid to retrace the journey of 10th Century Viking, Erik the Red, from Norway to Iceland to Greenland. Propelled by the advice that she should 'get more office experience' in order to find a job, Alexandra instead spends months seeking out Erik, who may not even have existed. Along the way she falls into fjords, delves into Nordic Sagas, eats puffin and explores long-ruined settlements.
Did Alexandra become as free as the legendary Viking who lived a thousand years before her? Has her adventure continued to influence her life and career? Did she eventually get that experience of working in an office? Come along to our event to find out.
There will be drinks, Scandinavian-inspired snacks, and music.
