What's better than one Steinway D? Two Steinway Ds...!

An informal performance opportunity for adult amateur pianists at Henry Wood Hall (http://www.hwh.co.uk/index.htm), rehearsal home of many London orchestras, and also home to two immculately maintained concert grand pianos. We at the London Piano Meetup Group are very lucky to be able to use this space for an informal performance event as Henry Wood Hall is not generally available for hire to the public. The pianos are frequently used for recording sessions, are immaculately maintained, and will be a treat to play.

Since there are two pianos, there is the opportunity to have a go at some two-piano repertoire as well! To arrange piano duo partners, please go to the group's facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/LondonPMG) and post a message there.

Time limit for performers (solo): 6 minutes

Time limit for two-piano performers: ~10 minutes (only one ticket needed between both people)

Performing slots available: 20

Doors open: 6pm

There are also plenty of spaces for friends/relatives to come and watch too - or also pianists who just don't want to get up and perform. After playing for each other we will head to a local pub/bar to socialise and talk pianos over a beverage or two.

The London Piano Meetup Group provides a friendly, supportive environment in which to air full pieces, parts of pieces, ‘works-in-progress’, improvisations, own compositions - anything piano related! All standards of player (beginners to advanced) are most welcome, especially those who have not attended one of our events before. Nerves when playing in front of other people are normal, regardless of how advanced you are or how long you have been playing, and everyone appreciates the challenges of performing in front of others - there is absolutely no judgement or competitive aspect at LPMG events, only mutual support from fellow performers and audience members.

Admission (and reservation of a performing slot if you wish to perform) is through pre-bought tickets only, we do not sell tickets on the door; there are also no refunds on tickets. The ticketing link will close 24 hours before the event, so make sure you reserve your spot in time. The LPMG is run by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis, and all ticket sales go towards venue hire and associated running costs of the group's activities.
