The London Piano Meetup Group is hosting a 'long play' informal performance opportunity for adult amateur pianists at Jaques Samuel in central London, on a hand-built Bechstein grand piano. The performing time for this event is much longer than our usual events - ideal for large-scale works, or multi-movement pieces.
Time limit for performers: 14 minutes
Performing slots available: 8
All standards of player are most welcome, especially those who have not attended one of our events before. You can play whatever you wish - a full pieces, parts of pieces, ‘works-in-progress’, improvisations, own compositions - anything piano related! Instrumentalists with piano accompaniment are also welcome - to arrange any ensembles or accompanists, please go to the group's facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/LondonPMG) and post a message there.There is absolutely no judgement or competitive aspect at LPMG events, only mutual support from fellow performers and audience members. After playing for each other we will head to a local pub/bar to socialise and talk pianos over a beverage or two.
We will be in room 2 at Jaques Samuel - to get to it, walk through the showroom, down the stairs and the studios are directly ahead at the bottom of the stairs. Please do not arrive at the shop early as there are music exams in the room before us. There are a very small number of observer/guest tickets for this event (4!) as the room is quite small.
Admission (and reservation of a performing slot if you wish to perform) is through pre-bought tickets only, we do NOT sell tickets on the door; there are also no refunds on tickets. The ticketing link will close 24 hours before the event, so make sure you reserve your spot in time. The LPMG is run by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis, and all ticket sales go towards venue hire and associated running costs of the group's activities.
