    Description

The first London Irish Short Play Festival will take place in the London Irish Centre, Camden, Thursday 20th – Sunday 23rd October 2016 when 6 brand new short plays, will be performed.

The festival is programmed and facilitated by the award winning, Biscuits for Breakfast Theatre Company and aims to provide a platform where London Irish playwrights & artists collaborate to showcase brand new theatre, in the heart of the London Irish community.

Following a huge response to the call for submission earlier this summer, six successful playwrights have been selected to participate in this year’s festival. Exploring themes of emigration, second generation, clichés, craic and folklore, these pieces promise to provide a engaging evening of entertainment, with something appealing for everyone.

The London Irish Centre charity supports Irish community and culture in London through a diverse mix of social, cultural and community care projects. Working from its historic Irish community home in Camden Square, the LIC has been at the heart of the Irish community for over 60 years. The charity’s patron is Dermot O’Leary

    The Festival Programme includes:

    “Plain Speak” by Dorothy Cotter

“The Gold of Boggerah” by Pete Brassett

“The Parting Glass” by Martin Mc Namara
    “Dear Michael” by Breda Keneghan

“Home is Calling” by Siubhan Mc Nally

“Recession in 1884” by Brendan Kenny
