Description

DRAWING SALON Trois

Monday 3rd July: 7pm – 9pm
(Please arrive by 6.50pm)

Alex will guide you through some 1 minute poses as warm up exercises, before moving onto swapping work and places to see if we can build and add to what has been drawn by someone else. She will encourage you to move around the room to see the model from a variety of angles, please feel free to stand or sit throughout the workshop!

The second hour of the workshop will be dedicated to 10-15 minute poses to allow time for each artists own self expression.

This workshop is suitable for all levels but a lively and energetic approach is essential – it’s also a fantastic opportunity for artists who want to break out of their comfort zones.

Please feel free to bring your own preferred tools and paper.

Basic materials, i.e. A2 newsprint, charcoal and pencils will be provided.

Spaces are limited as this workshop is being held at a private residence, please book early to avoid disappointment

Alex’s work is about exploring the female body from the perspective of the female gaze. She seeks to find authenticity within the female form and her drawings: from pin-ups, to renaissance beauties and the ladies of jazz, her illustrated forms are a personal reinterpretation of how the female body is viewed.

Flowing between commercial and artistic projects in her explorations to understand the full aspect of drawing Alex believes that drawing not only offers an authentic way to view visual representations of beings but is also a vital tool in connecting us back to an authentic way of seeing.

She has worked for; Miller Harris, Teen Vogue, InStyle (USA), AnOther, Girl Gaze inc, Johnnie Walker, Heist Tights, Prima, Phase Eight, Arcadia, Liberty’s, Lula and many others.

Currently represented by: ‘The Illustration Room’ and ‘Lipstick of London’
