The class will include:

  • An introduction to ingredients used in recreating the textures and flavours of cheese
  • Learning to make a selection of cheese dishes including: the perfect Mac n Cheese, Garlic and Herb Cream Cheese, Baked Rosemary Camembert, and Basil Ricotta
  • A feast of various plant-based cheese dishes for lunch
  • Recipes and samples of some of your creations to take home

    Ellie Phoebe Brown has been an enthusiastic cook from an early age but it was the shift to a plant-based diet that really ignited her passion for food. Keen to spread the word that vegan food doesn’t have to be all lentils and deprivation, Ellie especially loves creating delicious, plant-based versions of old favourites to show that there’s no recipe that need be off limits! Her latest recipes are documented on her blog: Kind State Of Mind and she is soon to launch her own brand of homemade vegan cheeses.

Fee*: £70 (£55 Concession**) includes a delicious organic plant based lunch.

* This fee is used to fund our programme of free courses to vulnerable and low-income community groups. By attending a Made In Hackney masterclass you get a great day of learning AND you’re providing our charity with essential funds for us to continue our work with vulnerable community groups.

Made In Hackney uses cereals containing gluten namely: wheat (spelt and khorasan wheat), rye, barley, oats; peanuts; all other nuts; sesame; all other seeds; soybeans; celery and celeriac; mustard; sulphur dioxide/sulphites; lupin; tomatoes and other allergens in it's classes. Our food is freshly prepared in our busy cookery school kitchen that handles allergens, so we cannot guarantee that our food and drinks are allergen-free. Even in classes where these ingredients are not being used, they will be on site in our store rooms and our equipment will have previously come into contact with them. Participants attend at their own risk.
