The Hampstead Jazz Club is proud to be taking part in this year's EFG Jazz Festival, supporting this jazz extravaganza, and promising to bring you a lauded line-up of some of the best artists and jazz on the scene today!

As part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, to offer musicians a greater return for their performances, we are adding an additional £2.50 per ticket during the festival, all of which will go directly to the musicians. We hope you will support our musical community.

Leo Richardson presents a stellar quartet of some of the finest musicians to perform the music of Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker. They will be playing music from the Original Sessions 1952-1953. Leo will be joined by trumpet maestro Quentin Collins, the incomparable Tim Giles on drums and the highly sought after Tom Farmer on bass. This is a show not to be missed!

Resident Hampstead Jazz Club artist Leo Richardson has put together a quartet of some of London’s most in demand musicians to recreate the cool sound of the Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker quartet of the early 1950’s. These quartet recordings were without a piano and allowed the group to develop contrapuntal lines together, resulting in a truly magnificent sound that became very popular. Tonight Leo will be playing the baritone saxophone and joined by Quentin Collins on trumpet, Tim Giles on drums and Tom Farmer on bass.

    LEO RICHARDSON:

Leo Richardson is widely recognised to be one of London’s leading Jazz Tenor Saxophonists. He is best known for his honest, straight-head, contemporary hard-bop style and regularly hosts the Late Late Show at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club with his own quartet.

His most significant influences include John Coltrane, Joe Henderson, Dexter Gordon, Horace Silver and Art Blakey.

The recent release of Leo’s follow up album ‘Move’, continues to make waves, alongside his notable performance and recording credits for artists which include: Jamie Callum, Gregory Porter, The BBC Proms, The Temptations, The Four Tops and The Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra.

    LINE-UP:
