My aim as a teacher-artist is to share thoughts, questions, tips and accumulated experiences to inspire and encourage others, and hopefully enhance their intellectual curiosity. Through my years of teaching, I have learned to look for a balance between the goals of technical mastery and the ability of the students to make their own choices, reflect, self discover, develop their own personal and imaginary universe.
A technical part will be about exploring physical mechanisms that allow us to reach physical extremes while protecting the body at the same time. Emphasis will be placed on the skeleton structure and muscular chains trying to find fluidity and freedom in our own movement, learning to recycle and save energy. Slowly some theatrical inputs, through a specific energy and clear images will give meaning to the movements and will help us to perform rather than just learn and execute dance steps.
We will rediscover, revisit, explore, use different games, exercises, framed improvisations, tasks and work-in function-of-an-idea; We will be working in couples, individually or in groups.
