Palace Cinema presents… LAST RESORT (15)
Paweł Pawlikowski’s strong, compassionate approach to this story of a young east European woman and her young son was his first feature, since when he’s gone to make extraordinary films including My Summer of Love (2004) and Ida (2015) which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language 2015.
Vulnerable, open-hearted Tanya (Dina Korzun) has arrived at Heathrow expecting to meet up with her British ‘fiancé’ but life has other plans and she and Artiom (Artiom Strelnikov) find themselves washed up on the chilly shore of ‘Stonehaven’ (Margate) in a holding area for asylum seekers. Alfie (Paddy Considine) is the local arcade worker who befriends them both and falls in love with Tanya. Their fragile relationship transcends the meanness of the town and officialdom surrounding them in a film that is beautifully acted and beautifully filmed, with not a wasted word, shot or scene.
This event, curated in collaboration with Creative & Media students from Broadstairs College, kicks off with a classic Margate publicity film, ALL GO MARGATE (1970). It is part of MAGIC HOURS, a film heritage project led by the Palace Cinema Broadstairs that explores and celebrates the films, cinemas and the many pop-up places to see film in Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate, 1896 to today. It includes collecting cinema memories, historical research, walking tours, film screenings, talks and a ‘work in progress’ summary on the Palace website!

I have not received my LAST RESORT ticket via email. What should I do?
The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your LAST RESORT tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your LAST RESORT tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you.
