42 Acres works with the land and its natural resources, using reclaimed materials to outfit the interiors of the property and all power is renewable and self generated through biomass and solar. Seven hundred acres of ancient forest encircle the main house, originally built as a dairy farm in the 1800s.
42 Acres Culinary Philosophy
The food at 42 ACRES is second to none. Expect the highest quality, locally sourced organic and biodynamic foods and ingredients that sustain the health and vitality of our bodies and community. The 42 Acres chefs believe in the restorative and regenerative benefits of meals prepared with care and shared with compassion. They even forage many wild ingredients from the land.
With few exceptions, food is prepared in the 42 acres kitchen using organic, hand-made ingredients and ferments. Food is sourced from a number of small heritage producers who maintain the highest standards of care and ethics in their operations.
The 42 Acres kitchen chefs are committed to creating meals that are diverse, colourful, flavourful, healthy and satisfying. Nourishment of both body and soul are integral to your stay with them. As such, know that the food you eat will be prepared with love, imagination, care and attention.
Processed foods are avoided (including refined sugar) and only cold-pressed oils and unrefined Atlantic sea salt are used in food preparation. Breads are made from organic sourdoughs (gluten-free options are available as well).
Milk, butter, yogurt and cheeses are obtained from 100% pasture fed organic goats, sheep and cows.
Food is vegan but if you have any further dietary requirements, please let us know.
Your Yoga Teachers:
Isabelle Sagra - Respira Yoga London Founder
A yoga experience with Isabelle is deeply affecting, soothing, therapeutic and a blissful journey for all of the senses, involving movement, breath, mindfulness and aromatherapy to bring complete surrender. She strongly believes that yoga is for everyone and that the benefits of this ancient practice can be experienced by every body, of any age or fitness level.
Isabelle is passionate about sharing yoga, making it accessible, enjoyable and an integral part of people's lives as she understands first-hand the power of yoga and how it can bring release, happiness and inner harmony.
She first came to yoga over 20 years ago finding that yoga brought a sense of clarity and calm to her overworked body and mind and that time spent on the mat gave her the chance to re-connect with her inner-self.
Her early training in classical ballet and later immersion in Latin dance has given her an intuitive understanding of the body and movement allowing her to recognize the unique patterns in different bodies. It is this passion for music and dance that allows Isabelle to create mindful flowing sequences set to evocative music, that are graceful and focused, moving meditations, synchronising breath with movement.
Meryl Currie (The Union Yoga)
Meryl is a dedicated and experienced Yoga practitioner of 20 years who teaches Yoga and Meditation as a healing and transformational practice providing soul solutions for living an authentic, sustainable, spiritual life.
On the mat she uses asana as the vehicle of learning, her focus as a teacher is on creating a solid foundation through safe alignment, proper breathing and presence in each posture, so that students may move deeper into their practice looking inward rather than outward.
Off the mat, as a Yoga lifestyle coach and mentor Meryl has a special interest in how Yoga translates into holistic health, moving through trauma (physical, mental, emotional) and sustainable, compassionate living. Her personal sadhana is grounded in a daily meditation practice, self study, and asana but extends to all aspects of her life. Allow Meryl to share her vast experience and love of yoga with you as she accompanies you along your own personal yoga journey.
