Description

Lancaster Comedy Club Proudly present:

Phil Chapman

Phil is an exciting stand-up making great strides on UK comedy circuit. He's also a talented MC and presenter, for both live and broadcast work, and a gifted voice over artist.

Phil's playful brand of comedy is engaging and charming in equal measure.

With a set that blends anecPhil Chapmandotes and observations with a healthy dose of banter, his happy-go-lucky style and mischievous on-stage persona, delights audiences at clubs far and wide.

Phil began performing comedy in 2006, doing local open mic nights for the first couple of years to build up a solid catalogue of material and experience.

After establishing himself on the local circuit, he began travelling further afield and is now doing support work and compering at a number of weekend clubs well as headlining at a number of independent comedy nights.

Pierre Hollins

The only ‘proper jobs’ Pierre Hollins has ever had were washing dishes in the House of Commons, labouringon a gas pipe line in Qatar, in the Middle East, and teaching drama to the mentally ill. InPierre Hollins the early days he worked as a support act to Lenny Henry and Rory Bremner; appeared in the West End with Rita Rudner; and toured with The Flying Pickets, Willie Rushton and Barry Cryer.

He has been an audience favourite on the comedy circuit for many years, and has headlined at clubs throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He has completely re-invented his act several times (from the early days of acrobatic spectacle and frivolous audience abuse – where he was described as ‘far fetched and semi dangerous’ by Time Out).

In a more recent incarnation he was found wielding an electric squash racket – ‘must be seen to be believed’ Chortle; ‘comedy rock and roll heaven’ Hot Tickets.

His relaxed amiability is defined by a compelling conversational style and absurd guitar posturing. His ‘songs’ are jokes that rhyme, set to a guitar backbeat, never travelling down the easy route of song parodies. He covers topics from love and hate, to sex and politics with a totally original voice, delivering his material with charm and irrelevance.

‘Should be made the mayor of a small village’ Shanghai City Weekend
‘Don’t miss this true professional at work. Bloody funny.’ Time Out

MC Chris Cairns

The smiling assassin, Chris Cairns is a fearless, rock solid comedian and one of the most admired comperes on the comedy circuit. A friend to audiences but deadly foe to anyone thinking of heckling, Chris is adored

Chris Cairnsfor his charm, joyfully near-the-knuckle jokes, and nanosecond response time.Renowned as being a safe pair of hands for any occasion, Chris has grown into a comedian hugely admired by audiences and peers both in his native Liverpool and around the country.

His spontaneity and natural enthusiasm have charmed even the most difficult of rooms, and there’s plenty ofmuscle in his magnificent material to pack a punch on the biggest of stages. Havingdone panto with John Bishop and enjoyed successful tours of Dubai, Spain and Holland, Chris is now a heavyweight contender to be reckoned with.

Chris is also hugely experienced on the corporate comedy scene, and has performed and and hosted events for clients ranging from giants like O2 and Liverpool Football Club to local businesses and charity events.
