Lambrego is an ensemble that writes, arranges and performs songs inspired by the Brazilian songwriting tradition. Drawing on the very roots of Afro-Brazilian music tradition, Lambrego gives respect to a cultural foundation but challenges its boundaries through free improvisation and dynamic arrangements, giving the audience an unexpected and exciting experience of modern-day Brazilian music.
This performance is part of Lambrego's UK Summer Tour '16 with singer Beatriz Tomaz. For this evening they will also be joined by guest musicians Alba Cabral and Iyatra Quartet.
“With poetic, thoughtful lyrics, touches of Bossa Nova and Samba in all its forms...Lambrego are a magnificent new addition to London’s music scene.” - Resonance FM
LET DRUM BEAT
Let Drum Beat are a collective of female musicians that have gathered their vast set of percussion, blending their afro-latin-brazilian heritage to create their own pieces flavoured by a wide diversity of acoustic sounds that range from tiny bells to heavy drums, energetic and paced rhythms, vocal melodies, bass lines and spontaneous dance.
Starting the evening with something a little different, Gold Vox is a collaboration between Rhia Parker and Danielle Jalowiecka. They first met whilst studying in Sydney, Australia and decided to create their own brand of beautiful recorder music together when reunited in London 6 years later.
