La Tragédie de Carmen at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge

From GBP 5.00

Location

Date

Nov 16 2018 19:30 - 21:00

Description

A reimagining of Bizet’s famous masterpiece by Peter Brook. Collaborating with composer Marius Constant, Brook focused his work on the tragic tale of the four characters who lie at the heart of the original piece. Their intense interaction creates a moving and thought-provoking drama, filled with much of Bizet’s wonderful music including Carmen’s ‘Habanera’, Escamillo’s Toreador Song and Don José’s Flower Song. Dark and thrilling, our version will see Don José looking back at what happened through a series of flashbacks. A familiar tale, but not as you expect it…

Join us at Fitzwilliam College on Friday 16th November at 19:30.

Please note this performance has no interval. It will run 1hour20 straight through.
