    Description

Do you want to improve the quality of lighting on your next film, or just know more about lighting before you start making films? Do you know you how to get the correct exposure to achieve the correct look for your scene? Your key light from your fill? Join us at Candid Arts on 11th February and learn how to light like a pro.

This workshop will be interactive and ‘hands-on’, allowing you to see up close some essential processes and choices for lighting effectively and inexpensively. No equipment is required, but attendees are welcome to bring their own equipment if desired.

Leading the Kino London Lighting Workshop is filmmaker David Witchell. Drawing on experience gained on a wide variety of productions, from high-budget features to zero-budget indies, David will demonstrate how to get big budget quality from a low budget setup on your next production.

David is the recipient of the Stanley Kubrick Award for Cinematic Storytelling and has been nominated for best short film in ShortPole London and The Birmingham Film Festival. His most recent film is currently touring on the international festival circuit, including The Bucharest Film Awards and The Milan International Film Festival of World Cinema.

Lighting is a critical aspect of David’s work, but he had to learn to achieve what he wanted with a limited setup and budget. These techniques, tips and tricks have proved invaluable to his work and he will be sharing these at the Kino Workshop.
