From the pier to the powerhouse there is plenty of local history to explore in Kinlochleven.
Join us for a short walk around the village to find out more about how the construction of the first major hydroelectric scheme in Britain saw the growth of the "electric village". We will point out the reminders of the aluminium industry, which was central to village life for nearly a century, and explain how these buildings are being used today. This summer saw the centenary of the opening of a Prisoner of War camp on the banks of the River Leven, you'll find out what impact German prisoners had on our village and how their legacy can still be seen today.
Grade: Easy walk on level paths.
