This one-day introductory course is for teachers, head teachers, classroom assistants, pupil support and youth workers, community learning staff, and all who support outdoor learning. To enable teachers to feel confident to deliver the John Muir Award to their learners. To allow sharing of ideas and resources across schools and teaching teams. It explores the relevant skills, knowledge and approaches needed for delivering the John Muir Award in a schools/education/curriculum context. The John Muir Award is appropriate for learners working at upper primary level and upwards (Secondary and ASN).
The course is only open to South East Improvement Collaborative (City of Edinburgh Council, East Lothian, Fife, Midlothian and Scottish Borders Council). Funded by Scottish Borders Council, priority will be given to Scottish Borders establishments.
