Ever popular they are back with one of the audiences favourite shows.  Showcasing the Great British Songbook, Lady of Pure Voice Jo Harrop and maestro of piano and arrangement Alex Webb team up for another enthralling night of live music!

Velvet-voiced Jo Harrop and pianist/arranger Alex Webb present an evening of British songwriting at its best in a cool, contemporary jazz format. Jo Harrop recently guested on the recent album ‘Call Me Lucky’ by Alex Webb & The Copasetics, delivering what jazzman.com called ‘a smoothly sumptuous vocal’ on the Webb original End of The Affair, with the album receiving 4 Star reviews in the Guardian and Evening Standard.

Durham born jazz singer Jo Harrop ‘was born to sing jazz!’ according to Blues & Soul magazine. Jo draws her inspiration from the great jazz divas which include Julie London and Anita O’Day and blends in the magical sultry emotion as emanated from the iconic voices of Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday.  However, this evening Jo lends her versatile and sumptuous voice to a selection of some of the best British songs, giving them the ultimate jazz Jo treatment.

She has worked all the London jazz venues including the Jazz Café where she supported The Blind Boys of Alabama. Her fans include composer Howard Blake OBE and jazz pioneer Courtney Pine CBE.

Alex Webb is a songwriter, arranger and pianist. His songs have been recorded by jazz singers China Moses, Mina Agossi, Sandra Nkake, Liane Carroll, Allan Harris, Alexia Gardner and Alexander Stewart, among others. His show 'Cafe Society Swing' has enjoyed several theatre runs in London and one in New York, where he received the New York Times 'Critic's Pick'.
