"[Jennie] will certainly draw comparisons with the likes of Kate Bush, The Knife and Bat For Lashes" - Q // "The Swedish indie-pop singer-songwriter channels Lykke Li's warped pop vibe." -Line Of Best Fit

Swedish born Jennie Abrahamson instantly grabbed the attention of international bloggers and radio stations with her last single The War. Even before the release, the track gained her the enthusiastic support of The Line Of Best Fit, Clash Music, Q Magazine, BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music. Back in Sweden, she was also nominated for the Swedish Pop Artist Of The Year at the Gaffa Awards, and performed with the prestigious Spellemannpris award winning and platinum-selling Ane Brun.

In 2014, alongside recording new material for her upcoming album Gemini Gemini, Jennie kept herself busy touring and performing the biggest arenas around the world with her childhood idol, Peter Gabriel.

Now in early 2015 the singer returns with her upcoming single Wolf, which saw her work alongside producer and long-term colleague Johannes Berglund (The Knife, Shout Out Louds, Owen Pallet). It’s clear that Peter Gabriel’s massive, densely intricate art-rock sound has influenced Abrahamson’s own material in parts, but it’s undeniable to say Jennie has gradually developed her own idiosyncratic style within the very sought after experimental Scandi-pop. Wolf has a smooth and subtle production, with a vying drumbeat that resembles Kate Bush’s 80s hit Running Up That Hill and Rae Morris’ recent Under The Shadows.

Phoenix is the b-side to Wolf, and with its shiver-inducing vocal line, it shows the diversity in Jennie’s song-writing and unity within her sonic spectrum where both tracks fit in comfortably.

Abrahamson has truly emerged as one of modern pop’s most thrilling voices, making the release of future singles even more tantalizing. For now, however, she spoils us with Wolf and Phoenix, which will be available for sale and download on the 16th March 2015.
