The Wild Hare Club returns with an intimate show by Jeb Loy Nichols – 'America's high priest of country cool’ according to Rolling Stone magazine - and collaborator Clovis Phillips.
They will be playing songs from their new album ‘Three Fools’ as well as ones from across Nichols’ extensive back catalogue, including last year’s widely feted ‘United States of the Broken Hearted’ which was produced by Adrian Sherwood and released on On-U Sound Records. Expect heart-tugging songs which encompass elements of folk, blues and reggae as well as deep country soul.
Opening the evening is another American who has found a creative haven in the Welsh hills - Pamela Wyn Shannon who will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Amy Wheel.
Pamela’s unique compositions have an elliptical quality with their own rules, conjuring up their own kingdoms and time-frames. These songs are reminiscent of the magic found in records from the 1960s folk renaissance. Her inventive and intricate guitar work has been described as "a tiny chamber orchestra working in unison at the end of her hands," and her vocal style has a delicate lilting sensitivity.
Expect an evening of music where time just slips away.
