We're rather excited to be welcoming JACKIE OATES through the red doors this September. Jackie is a singer and fiddle player whose unique treatment of English ballads and songs, and pure, haunting singing style has earnt her great respect and renown in traditional folk circles.

Jackie performed in the‘Rachel Unthank & the Winterset’ group between 2003 and 2007, and went on to win two BBC Radio Folk Awards in 2009; The Horizon Award for best newcomer and the Best Traditional Track Award. Jackie was also in the top 10 Mojo album of the year chart in 2008.

Last year Jackie released her 7th solo album, ‘The Joy of Living’, to excellent reviews;

Oates should be deeply proud of it.” The Guardian, Folk Album of the Month
A personal, affecting collection.” The Observer
A charming evocation of life’s cradle-to-grave rituals.” Sunday Times
One of the best folk records of the year so far.” Entertainment Focus
