Description

IT’S NOT A PANTO! (OH YES IT IS)

After their summer smash hit revival of comedy farce, ‘Whoops There Go My Bloomers’,

the Thanet Writers And Theatrical Society have gotten a bit above their station and splashed out on hiring the help of London’s theatrical imposter Sir Leonard Dithering to write and direct their annual Christmas caper … a Panto!

Famous for his controversial productions of ‘Sing Me A Lisp’, ‘Don’t Shoot, I’m Not French: A Retelling of Les Miserable’ and his biggest hit ‘TWITCH’ a musical about Tourettes which critics claimed it ‘INVOLUNTARY TICKED ALONG’, Sir Dithering is far from what they bargained for!

From first rehearsal to final performance disaster upon disaster ensues. Secrets are exposed, sexual tension is rife and emotions are fraught. With murder, jealousy, robbery, topiary, menopause, leaked nudes and the possibility of being banned from Stuff & Salads forever, will the T.W.A.T.S ever be able to show their faces in Thanet ever again?

Presented as a LIVE Radio Play at the Tom Thumb Theatre Margate, writer\director Stuart Saint aka COOKIEMAN (Misfit Warrior - Edinburgh Fringe, The Ultimate Drag Showdown - Clapham Grand, The World Goes Round - Stockwell Playhouse, Newsrevue - Canal Cafe Theatre, Princess - Lost Theatre, De Profundis, Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens, Dick! - Leicester Square Theatre, A Night In Soho - Phoenix Arts Club) presents a very British, Christmas comic caper as a love letter to Thanet inspired by, (stolen from), the likes of ‘Round The Horne’, Dinnerladies’, ’Stepping Out’, ‘Vicar of Dibley’ and ‘Acorn Antiques’.

Watch in disbelief as the wheels fall spectacularly off his lowbrow, middle class, slightly politically incorrect piece of light entertainment. Performed by a cohort of mediocre Margate talent, this perfect slice of festive fluff will fill you with some much needed joy and warm your heart far cheaper than this years energy bills!
