    Description

    Introduction to Fungi

    Level: Beginner - Intermediate

Join experienced fungi and foraging teacher Sophie Wren to learn all about the fascinating kingdom of fungi.

    This day course covers:

    • An introduction to fungal biology and ecology
    • An introduction to fungi classification and  features
    • Discovering and studying species 'in the field' during a walk through the woods
    • Information about the different ways in which fungi have been used by people, from food and medicine to first aid and firelighters.
    • Since it is close to Halloween, there will also be a focus on weird and wonderful facts about these fascinating beings, and on the poisons contained by some!

*Please note that although we may encounter edible species, this is a general introduction to fungi rather than a foraging course.
