Interconnect and FemEng have organised a collaborative group project, with the aim of designing a wind farm. The project is open to all students at the University of Glasgow, Strathclyde and Caledonian. Men/Women, Members/Non-Members.. all are welcome!!
This project is sponsored by SSE and Mott MacDonald.
Our sponsors are co-developing the brief with us and providing mentoring throughout the project. This is your opportunity to network, further your technical and group skills and gain exposure to industry software. The week will commence on 3rd April, with introductions, a networking lunch and distribution of resources and the brief. Throughout the week, there will be scheduled mentor sessions so you can get insight from experts and professionals.
DUT is kindly providing us with software licenses for industry software WAsP, and Mott MacDonald will be holding tutorial sessions teaching you how to use it; which means you will develop a basic proficiency with this programme and give you something unique to put on your CV.
This project will have a focus on the location, design, power, environmental, social and economic impacts of your wind farm. The Interconnect Wind Farm Project will conclude with a networking and presentation day at SSE.
