Description
Sculptor and medical artist Eleanor Crook will use the technique of wax modelling to teach participants to sculpt the nose upon a pre-cast face before cutting part away. This is to represent tumour excision, disease and trauma defects. Use plastic surgery procedures to reconstruct the area before using colour to create a lifelike moulage head that can be taken away to keep at no extra cost.
Includes a slide lecture on plastic surgery and nasal anatomy.
No previous experience necessary, but participants should work or study in a medical context. Special rate tickets available for IMI members.
*The Human Tissue Act permits only the medical public to enter the museum. Participants may photograph their sculptures, but must not include any museum specimens.
