Date

Description

Designed to support local businesses and staff, this unique event promises to get attendees off to a winning start, feeling inspired, and ready to face any challenge. And all for a good cause, with proceeds going to Beaumond House Community Hospice.

The day will consist of three interactive training workshops, a ‘mindfulness zone’, and inspirational talks from former soldier and triple amputee, Andy Reid, and Ultra Marathon Man, Andy McMenemy.

Through these sessions, guests can expect to discover the key to happiness and success and gain an insight into how much your life and your workplace could improve by adopting a positive mindset and our proven methods.

All we ask is for a minimum donation of £50 – a substantial discount from the usual cost of £200 per person.

Complimentary lunch and refreshments are also included in the price and any business which donates £100 or more will be offered membership to the Beaumond House Business Club.

*If you would like to discuss a potential group discount, for a booking for 5 people or more, please do get in touch to see how we can help

Speakers:

  • Andy Reid: Andy is a former soldier who suffered the loss of three limbs as a result of stepping onto a Taliban I.E.D. device. Since leaving the army, Andy has taken his inspirational story and shares it with businesses and schools up and down the country. Andy is the author of ‘Standing Tall’ and winner of Millie’s Award for overcoming adversity.

“Bloody minded courage, awesome love, and a story that will move you to tears” - Daily Mail

"I hope that my story of overcoming adversity and the daily challenges I have faced, and continue to face, will give guests the inspiration they need when facing the challenges and hurdles in their daily lives.” - Andy Reid

  • Ultra Marathon Man, Andy McMenemy: Extreme sportsman Andy Mcmenemy ran an incredible 50km (31 miles) in each of 66 UK cities in 66 days for the Soldiers Charity. Andy says he relied on ‘good old guts and determination’ to complete the 2,000 miles of the 66 back-to-back ultra marathons.

“An amazing speaker. Guests were stunned by Andy’s stories of determination, hope, courage and belief” - Chairman of ICS

“There is nothing more enjoyable than using my experience to encourage others to achieve their goals and dreams. It’s a pleasure to work as part of a team that inspires people to achieve their true potential.” - Andy McMenemy

Mindfulness Zone:

  • Guests will have the chance to take part in our ‘mindfulness zone’, learn about the practice of mindfulness, and try out some techniques for themselves.

“We are delighted that Get the Edge has offered to run this day as a benefit to the Hospice, which would not exist without the support of companies like Get The Edge and the partners involved. I urge all businesses to send their staff because it promises to be a day where everyone involved will come away with something hugely beneficial and of course inspiring.”- Cathy Lowe, fundraising and marketing manager of Beaumond House.
