    A lively discursive event where we will explore and debate creative ‘risk-taking’ in performance, programming and producing. A unique chance to hear from a range of key UK arts professionals, meet other artists and programmers.

    Who should attend? Anyone who is interested in the current climate of the arts and the concept of ‘risk’ within it.

    Ticket price includes a drink/food reception at 5.30pm and a private view of Tmesis Training Company Event 'Daydream Believers'.

    Chaired by Matthew Linley (Artistic Director and CEO of Unity Theatre) Liverpool's small-scale theatre with big ambitions. Their work is challenging, innovative, risky and unusual.

    Speakers include:

    Camille Bensoussan, Executive Director, Upswing

    Camille joined Upswing as Producing Manager in 2012 and was appointed Executive Director in Spring 2014. Camille has been working freelance in Outdoor Arts and events for over fifteen years producing a range of events including the arts programme for Lollibop Festival 2012 and more recently the award winning Bedtime Stories for Upswing.

    Gemma Bodinetz, Artistic Director, Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse

    Gemma Bodinetz took up her post as Artistic Director for the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse in September 2003. She has since directed The Kindness of Strangers, The Mayor of Zalamea, Intemperance and Macbeth at the Everyman; Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Lady of Leisure, All My Sons, Tartuffe, The Hypochondriac, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Misanthrope and Educating Rita at the Playhouse and Yellowman on tour. In March 2014 the new Everyman opened to great acclaim and Gemma directed its opening production of Twelfth Night.

    Deborah King, Director, Brighter Sound

    Debra is an experienced arts leader with proven strategic ability and a wide ranging knowledge of music, the arts, education, culture, community participation at a local, national and international level. Debra is currently the Director of Brighter Sound a cultural producer of music programmes pioneering new ways to explore creative music with artists and musicians.

    Laurie Miller-Zutshi, Creative Producer, Seachange Arts

    SeaChange Arts are an independent arts development charity, dedicated to delivering outstanding opportunities for artists and communities through circus, street arts projects and events. Laurie is responsible for the overall project and programme delivery and heads up the organisation of the 'Out There International Festival of Circus & Street Arts'.

    Amit Sharma, Associate Artistic Director, Royal Exchange Theatre

    Amit has been Graeae’s Associate Director since 2011, and is a graduate of Graeae’s Missing Piece actor training course. He is currently Associate Artistic Director at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. Their work transforms the way people see theatre, each other and the world around them.

    Jamie Wood, performer

    Jamie Wood makes and teaches theatre of all kinds, he uses a word, 'clown' to encourage himself and others to be brave and take the risk of looking foolish, failing and enjoying laughter.
