This active in-depth class will serve as an introduction to suspension going from a partial suspension to full dynamic side suspension.

    This class will:

Introduce safety considerations, suspension equipment, etc.

Teach how to set a hard point at different heights.

Explore how body harnesses (such as TKs) behave during suspension.

Cover join on, lift and lock off methods.

    Explore pain processing techniques.

    Cover a 'low partial' suspensions.

Teach a 'low rise' full flight side suspension with micro transitions and play ideas.

Touch upon issues of tying someone heavier than you (EntwinedStar and Christian Red have a considerable size difference and will show how they're able to switch).

Simulate how to respond to an emergency during suspension.

    Explore common misconceptions and mistakes.

Prepare students for any workshop that requires suspension experience.

Shame people who have already tried suspension and would appreciate another perspective.

    About the teachers

    ChristianRed in his own words:

'I'm a rope/takedown teacher based in Nottingham and have been teaching since 2012.

My focus as an educator is giving people tools and ideas to express themselves by breaking complex topics into simple ideas.

My involvement in the kink community has lasted 20 years so far. In recent years, I've taught at Prague Shibari, Athens Rope, Anatomie Studios, Rope On!, Rope Office Hours, String Fling, UKREX and Oxford Peer Rope.'

    --

    EntwinedStar in her own words:

'I love meeting diverse, sadistic and creative minds and that's part of the attraction of rope. I've been active on the UK rope scene for around six years, teaching in Nottingham and learning from incredible riggers and models from across Europe.

Rope brings out my exhibitionist side, and engages my sexuality, masochism and enjoyment of degradation. I adore the energy that I take from rope and how that leads me to challenge myself.'
