Recently named in the Guardian’s Top-Ten Lighting Festivals in Europe, Illuminating York, now in its 10th year is a cutting edge, Digital arts festival that shines a colourful light on York’s beautiful, historic landscapes.
The festival attracts around 50,000 people to the city, over four nights, each October.
Illuminating York takes place in York City Centre utilising many of York’s iconic buildings, city walls and magical streets.
This year will be the first time Curators have been involved and they will be including in their programme York's most famous street!
As the UK’s only UNESCO City of Media Arts, York is home to over 400 creative and media businesses.
The festival achieves local, regional, national and international media coverage and will partner this year with Solar Aid which is the UNESCO International Year of Light charity.
Illuminating York is also central to a new network of Northern Lighting Festivals including Durham Lumiere, Enchanted Parks in Gateshead, Light up Lancaster, Leeds Light Night and Salford Quays Digital Programme.
Illuminating York is currently nominated for a Dulux Colour moment of the Year award.

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your Illuminating York tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services.
