ILENKUS (Galway) 7" release show
+Metal Disco (yes!)
Early show - GOOD FRIDAY - out by 11pm
'Hunger' is Ilenkus's third release and takes their music in a darker and more violent direction. The EP contains four short, chaotic and cathartic bursts of grinding post metal.
Recorded, engineered and mixed by Aidan Cunningham (Murdock) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (The Armed, Sunn 0))), Nails, Old Man Gloom).
The first single from the EP ‘Hunny Bunny’ was featured on MetalSucks, with them describing it as: ‘A nut-grabbing explosion of raw violence and grinding post-hardcore, this song brings to mind Axe to Fall-era Converge with just enough Botch-inspired math bits thrown in to keep you on your toes’.
Echoes and Dust described ‘Hunger’ as ‘A four track EP which moves to a far more aggressive style of noisy hardcore‘ and ‘one of the most vital and exciting 14 minutes and 11 seconds that you’ll listen to today’.
State.ie said of the band’s recent festival appearance at Knockantockan 2016 ‘Ilenkus are absolutely tearing up the place in a frenzy of lights, smoke and astonishing noise. We’ve seen a lot of great performances this weekend yet this one might just take the top spot, helped by the thrill of a new discovery and the sheer power of their grinding post-metal’

"The band deliver huge concrete slabs of sound coupled with tight melodies and taut dense rhythms overtopped with vocals with enough acid to strip wallpaper at a hundred paces." - Mark Ashby, PlanetMosh.com
