Described as one of the most distinctive, original and creative jazz singers on the scene, Shaw is also a talented pianist and songwriter. Twice voted 'Best Jazz Vocalist' at the BBC Jazz Awards, nominated for a JazzFM award and with more than a dozen albums to his name, he is much in demand as the featured soloist with big bands and orchestras both in the UK and internationally, as well as pairing with the likes of Guy Barker, Liane Carroll and Claire Martin.
Shaw is joined by long-term collaborator and newly appointed Musical Director of Hampstead Jazz Lounge, risings-star Jamie Safir who has worked as a pianist for the likes of Will Young, Olly Murs, Steps & The Brand New Heavies as well as the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars Claire Martin, Barb Jungr & Stan Sulzman. His unique and mesmerising accompaniment style is earning him acclaim around the country and he has worked with Ian at such esteemed venues such as The Queen Elizabeth Hall, Pizza Express Jazz Club & Ronnie Scotts in Soho. This collaboration will take you through the Great American Songbook, Great singer-songwriters of the 1960s & 70s up to current songs written by the pairing.
